Star-studded field confirmed for 2026 3M Open
The 2026 3M Open is set to begin on Thursday at TPC Twin Cities, bringing a field of 144 players, including major champions and top-ranked golfers, to Minnesota. This event marks the PGA Tour‘s return stateside following a two-week period in the U.K. and is one of three tournaments remaining before the FexEx Cup Playoffs commence.
Among the confirmed participants are 53 of the top 125 players in the Official World Golf Ranking, representing 21 countries. Kurt Kitayama, who topped the leaderboard at last year’s tournament, will defend his title. He is listed at +2200 on the odds board, trailing only World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who is at +270.

The field includes several notable golfers. Hideki Matsuyama is listed at +3000, while other contenders such as Maverick McNealy (+2700), Max Homa (+5500), and 2022 winner Tony Finau (+6000) are also participating. Casey Jarvis, who secured sixth place at The Open, is considered a longshot at +8000.
Tournament officials confirmed the 144-player field, which features a mix of PGA TOUR stars, major champions, past winners, and rising talent. The full field list was finalized on Friday, July 17. Players who finished in the Top 10 at The Open Championship or the Corales Puntacana Championship may still join and could replace the lowest-ranked qualified players.

A computer model has simulated the tournament 10,000 times, suggesting that Maverick McNealy may not finish in the top 5, while Johnny Keefer, with longer odds of +6500, could rise on the leaderboard. The model also indicates that two other longshots with odds of at least +6000 could contend for the title.
The biggest name among late withdrawals is Jordan Spieth. Players have the option to withdraw from the 3M Open at any point up until their first round tee time on Thursday.
