Casemiro Joins Inter Miami
Brazilian international midfielder Casemiro has officially joined Inter Miami CF as a free agent. The club announced the signing, stating that he will remain under contract through the conclusion of the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, with an option to extend until June 2029. His move to the Major League Soccer side is pending the receipt of his P-1 Visa.
Casemiro expressed his motivation for the move, stating, “What motivates me the most, and I think this is true for every player, is winning and continuing to grow. The project the Club presented to me, along with the effort everyone made to bring me here, means a lot to me.” He added, “I’m incredibly grateful, and I can’t wait to get started so I can repay that trust—not only during the 90 minutes on matchday, but every day in training as well. All I can say is thank you, and I’ll give everything I have to return the affection and confidence the Club has shown me.”
Ownership Welcomes Veteran Midfielder

A Career of Achievements
Casemiro arrives in South Florida following a distinguished career at the highest levels of world football. He spent the past three seasons with English Premier League side Manchester United, where he added to his extensive list of honors, which includes five UEFA Champions League titles and numerous domestic and international awards. During his three seasons with the Red Devils, he made 160 appearances, scoring 26 goals and providing 14 assists. He also helped the club secure an English League Cup and an FA Cup title.
Prior to his time in England, Casemiro had an eight-year tenure with Spanish side Real Madrid CF. With Los Blancos, he won five UEFA Champions League titles, three UEFA Super Cups, three FIFA Club World Cups, three LaLiga championships, one Copa del Rey, and three Spanish Super Cups. Across eight seasons with Real Madrid’s first team, he made 336 appearances, recording 31 goals and 29 assists.
Casemiro began his professional career at São Paulo FC in 2010 at the age of 18. After three seasons with São Paulo’s first team, he moved to Europe in 2013 to join Real Madrid. He also had a loan spell with FC Porto during the 2014-15 campaign.
On the international stage, Casemiro has been a consistent presence for Brazil for over a decade, earning 91 caps. He helped Brazil win the 2019 Copa América title and represented the nation in the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups. Most recently, he featured for Brazil at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, starting all five of the Seleção‘s matches, contributing a goal in the Round of 32 and an assist in the Round of 16.
Departure from Manchester United
Casemiro departed Manchester United after four years at Old Trafford. He scored in the League Cup final victory in 2023 and reached two FA Cup finals, winning the competition in 2024. He was also part of the United side that reached the Europa League final in May 2025. United decided not to exercise a 12-month extension option on his contract, a decision made before the end of the season.
During his final season at United, the Brazilian had his most productive campaign in front of goal, scoring nine times. Manchester United has since added Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans to their midfield this summer.
